125 grn plated FP and 158 grn JSP.

Also can I load +P loads in regular .38 brass? Is there even a difference in the brass between spec and +P?

All that you ask for is covered in detail in several

LOADING MANUALS!
SPEER,
LEE,
HODGDON'S,
HORNADY,
LYMAN'S.
Read them cover to cover. You will learn a lot.

Thank you Perfesser, would you believe out of my 4 loading manuals not one has info for 231 and 125 lead except in +P.

The Lyman P&R 2ndE lists....

3.9gr-5.1gr for 125gr jacketed and
3.4gr-5.1gr for 121gr lead
both those loads list 5.4gr as the max for +P

3.5gr-4.9gr for 158gr lead
5.2gr for +P

If looking for a Win231 load and none listed, look at the HP-38 listings. Same powder except for the labeling, and of course the usual lot-to-lot variation. I've used a great deal of HP-38 that came from a 40lb keg that had a St.Marks WW231 lot#.
