Need a little bit of help....

so i am looking for something sweet....im in the mood to spend up to 600 on a good compact auto....maybeeee 700 if the gun blows me away...im looking for a .380 or 9mm....i dont want a .40 or a .45 in a small compact...i was looking at a ppk and held one today and i like it but i saw something else that caught my eye...the kahr PM9...this thing was sweet....but the price tag read 770! i kno there pricey but are they really that pricey? anyone else live in cali and own one? how much did you pay if so....also im open to some suggestion on anything else small....but keep in mind i dont want a sig ,cz, kel tec and no bersa either...and i got a glock 26 but i just dont like carrying....so any one else got any good suggestions? Thanks
