Greetings to all you fellow sharpshooters. I am looking for a replica 92 for a general purpose knock around gun. The Navy Arms stainless models caught my eye. Does anyone out there in TV land have any experience with these 92's? Are there any other brands of 92's worth considering? Thanks for any and all comments.

Yanus,

I have a Navy Arms '92 short rifle in .357 Magnum and really like it. When I bought it the smith commented that it wouldn't shoot .38 Special, and wouldn't feed SWC style bullets. Well, as it turned out, it will feed both .38's and SWC bullets! It's also reasonably accurate and fun to shoot. Can't ask for more than that.

I am leaning towards a 92 short rifle stainless. I wish they made the rifle in 44mag. I wonder if the short rifle is any more accurate than the carbine. The carbine is about one pound lighter than the rifle.
Thanks for responding.

Jack,
Do you have the carbine or short rifle?
Blue or stainless? I think the 45 Colt is the best calibre of the ones available.
Thanks.
