Mystery Receiver ID Help Needed

This receiver appears to be a small ring Mauser, it has two front lugs, no rear lug recess. The only remaining mark is the serial number F8593. Anyone know what it is/was? All I know for sure about the length is that it is shorter than a K-98 action.

It appears to be a 1893 Mauser action, but without the rest of the hardware it is hard to be sure. If you could post a picture of the bolt, magazine, trigger group, etc, it would be easier to be sure.

I'm guessing late Spanish '95 or 1916. Is there a flat cut in the bolt channel to match the rectangular (lower) bolt face?

The gas port looks just like the Spaniard, Does the thumb cut for clip loading intersect with the guide rib? Spaniards did not have the thumb cut go as far down as other (later) models; from the pic it appears that the thumb cut is the Spaniard type.

Thanks for your help guys. Here's the rest of the pictures I have so far. I was hoping that knowing it was a small ring Mauser and the odd serial number would be enough to identify it. I'll forward your questions to the owner and see if we can get more helpful photos.

It is a Spanish Model 1893 Mauser, made in Spain. The original caliber was 7mm and the receiver should not be used to build a rifle in a caliber that will exceed the 40,000 psi pressure level of the original caliber.

Those rifles were imported by the hundreds of thousands pre-1968 and complete rifles are still plentiful at moderate prices. Parts are available, but for a complete rifle, it would be more economical to just buy a complete rifle than to build one from a receiver. For barrel buying purposes, that is a small ring Mauser.
