My "new" 617-1

Hi, all:

Just got back from the gunshow with my latest acquisition, a 617-1, which appears to be in excellent condition. It has a target hammer and trigger and original Smith walnut target grips. I'll post photos once I clean 'er up. Can I get some help with date of manufacture? The serial number is BRA2435.

My edu-guestimate is early 90s; I'll try to check my book and answer better tomorrow.

Thanks, Kamerer. I've asked around on the Smith & Wesson forum and someone over there guesstimates '94. He told me that the 617-1 was manufactured from '94 - '96. I've ordered the Smith & Wesson standard catalogue and I'm sure that'll pin it down.
