I need some advice on a good load for my cva 54 cal in-line muzzel loader, it has a 1-38 twist. my current load is 100gr of ffg and a 425gr conical. that load shoots good but I have tried to go with a sabot round and get no acc. should I stick with the conical? is there a big advantage to the sabot? HELP!! Early deer season is in Oct.

If you've already found a decent load with the regular conical, why fool with a sabot? Your time is better spent learning how your in-line shoots with concials at 25, 50, 75, 100 yards and perhaps 150 yards. Also, practice range estimation for deer season. You can play with sabots after the season is over.
