Mt First Center fire Pistol

Hi all, Greetings from Australia

Now down to my Question. Im looking to buy my first Center fire pistol for competition use. Im looking to get into what we call "service pistol' matches and also variations of 1920 and 15/60 matches as well.

Just so you know Handguns in Australia are only allowed to be used for competition/ sport use at a licensed range. so this gun WILL NOT be used for self defence, CC ,open carry or ever used outside of a range as we are not legally allowed to.


The guns i have tried so far are, The Glock 17, Smith and Wesson MP, Beretta 92fs as well as the S&W 686 revolver. I prefer the semi autos and i cant say i really liked the Glock all that much. i was impressed with the M&p tho.

What other Pistols would you guys recommend?

Good day mate. I'd checkout a 1911, a Browning Hi Power, a CZ 75, a Walther P99 and an HK P7.

If that's the case, you might as well go all out and get an open class pistol like the CZ Czechmate, something from the SIG Mastershop, or something from STI.

CZ Shadow. Good weight up front to tame the already non-existent recoil. Your barrels have to be a certain length, right?

You simply cannot go wrong with a cz75. It really is a brilliant but under rated 9mm. Possibly the best out there
