Mossburg 20ga Plug?

I've got a mossburg 20ga semi that will only hold 3 rounds. I figured the obvious answer was a plug but I see no indication in the instruction manual that there would be such a thing. (I got the gun used.)
Now, normally I wouldn't expect to have a problem with such a thing but I have torn this gun apart as far as I can go without using an acetylene torch:rolleyes: (I think) and I see no evidence of any removable plug.

Did Mossberg actually manufacture a gun that only holds 3 shells?

It is a wooden dowel. Just unscrew the barrel and remove it. inside the hole I insert a sharp straight dental pick to steer it and insert rounds to push it forward... It may or may not still have rubber o-rings on it....

Some were staked at a single point, which could possibly be removed. Others were staked by machine that made a ring all the way around the magazine, which would be next to impossible to remove and would require replacing the magazine tube.
