Several years ago, Marlin was going to try to get deeply into the single shot market. Like most really coooool stuff (bolt guns, etc.) Marlin has undertaken (no pun intended), they just killed it.
The rifle was made well enough, but poor wood finish, plastic doodads and no marketing to speak of are more than even a good gun could overcome. Saw several at shows, never shot one.
