To continue the saga of Guess what This is I offer this. I will tell you that it is German, fairly old and in 357MAGN.

Still no right answers.

It's a Herbert Schmidt. It was made sometime before WWII. In the hint I said it was chambered for the 357 MAGN which was before folks standardized on what they would call the round. When Magnum was abreviated early on it could end up being most anything.

Herbert Schmidt actually stayed in business until the early 90's when it finally dissappeared.
