More Info about sintered ( zinc?) bullets

I bought some inexpensive lead free range ammo in 9mm from
Cheaper than Dirt and it was 100gr.

I tried to squeeze one of the bullets with wire cutters
to test for hardness and the bullet broke in two
like a pretzel or soda cracker.

Recently while shooting in the woods I was curious
if the bullets would fragment when shooting trees.
The verdict is they DO NOT. They are harder
than FMJ ammo. I shot through a 5 inch sapling
with a tree right behind it and pried out several
bullets from the 2nd tree where they imbedded
only half way into the wood. They are so perfect
they could be re shot again. The ONLY marks were
the rifling grooves in the bullet.

I was really surprised as these bullets I thought
were supposed to disintegrate when striking
any objects. I was led to believe they are compressed
ZINC powder but they are really really hard

BTW, heavier FMJ range ammo bullets were
deforming and would not shoot into the same
depth of wood as these "sintered " bullets would.

For self defense work, I guarantee these bullets
will act like HARD CAST lead when shot into flesh.
