Minimum or Ideal Earthen Backstop Dimensions.

In my previous locations for shooting, I had natural backstops for shooting, pit walls, large creek banks, dirt cliffs and so on.

I am considering putting up a range at my newest property, but it doesn’t really have substantial natural features, so I am considering making an earthen backstop for intermediate rifle cartridges and pistols.

For those that have done this, what would you consider minimum dimensions, or better yet, ideal.
How much soil would this take in terms of cubic yards?

While I have plenty of space, it is heavily vegetation and I just don’t like shooting where I can’t see beyond my targets, I’d feel more comfortable with a backstop.
