On what finish gun?

Good question. If you have a preference as to blued vs stainless, include it in a post.

Personally, I like Ivory Micarta on BOTH blued and stainless revolvers.

I have Don Collins Ivory Micartas on a 686 snub, and his aged Ivory Micarta on two Js, a 640 and a 649. They will scratch, but can be buffed back with little effort, and are as sweatproof as the guns. NICE looking. He also makes grips from Corian (DuPont countertop material). Put a black set on my .45C MG. Spooky stuff! Dense, works easily, and can be buffed to a fare-thee-well. When buffed out, it reflects light along the edges of the curves, but in the center is dead, total deep black - blackest stuff I've ever seen on a gun or knife handle. Terry Primos handled a small Bowie in Corian from Collins, and the set is spectacular.

My personal taste is:

Stainless/High polish/Chrome = Black

Blued/black = White

Case Hardend = Either one or the multi

I like the contrast but, on certain guns styles with a high gloss real dark blueing, the black would look classy too!

Black, on blue or stainless guns but I think it looks better on stainless. Hopefully I'll be getting that black Micarta from Hogue for my Bisley soon.
