What is the typical velocity of the med powered 125 gr .357 mag ammo, fired froma 4" barrel for example? Is this alot slower than full powered 125 gr ammo? Besides Reminington, how many manufactures product med velocity .357 ammo?

thanks

Chris; Proload makes a Med. velocity 357 maggie load. It's a 125gr. Gold Dot called the "Tactical Lite". 1125 fps @ 351 ftlbs. of energy. Don't know the barrel lenght they used. I shot a box full out of a Taurus 617 2" snubbie. Recoil was very manageable. IMO, they'd be more effective than 38+P's but wouldn't have the recoil of full house magnum loads. Best Regards, J. In addition to Remington and ProLoad, I believe either Triton or Cor-Bon produces a "medium-velocity" .357 load for reduced recoil...can't remember off-hand, tho'...oh,well....mikey357

I chrongraphed Remington's 125 grain Golden Saber at 1113 fps from a 2.5" S&W, and 1195 from a 4" Ruger.
