I just got a few of the rubber maxfire speed loaders for my 608 and I cant get them to work at all.
Its faster for me to take them out and load them manually.
I just got them for fun , I dont carry the 608 and wouldnt carry this speed loader either.
Is it me , am I doing it wrong?
Every time I get a new gun I get all excited and end up buying some usless accessory.
I think this might be one :(

Maxfire...NOT!

You're not alone in your dislike of the Maxfire product. I got a set included with a used S&W 627 I purchased and found much the same as you.

Getting the ammo into the Maxfire was awkward, it didn't hold the cartridges straight or line up real well with the cylinder, and it was so large it rubbed the grips when trying to load. Also, you have to 'wipe' it away from the frame in order to get the cartridges into the cylinder. So if you're holding the revolver in your left hand, and the speadloader in your right, you have to move your right arm across your left arm to load the darn thing.

Not convenient at all.

I tossed mine and they were free.

Good luck,

Maybe, just maybe, the Maxfire speedloaders would be OK if they were loaded up and carefully stored prior to use, so the rounds did not move at all.

I couldn't find any such storage place and gave my two Maxfires away.

Aneyone want to buy them let me know :)
I think loading 6 has to be esier than 8 but still a dumb idea
1/2 moons would be cool

They're Okay........

I have a couple for my Ruger SP101 & my GP100.
They work alright.
But, I read on one of the Gun-Forums that they'll put a Strain and
some Wear on your Cylinder Crane.
I like H&K reloaders better.

But most times, I just drop a Bianchi Speedstrip, or two,in a shirt
pocket, or my jacket pocket. They are right handy.
Speed strips are a lot less bulky than fat speed-loaders.
Not quite as fast though.
Still, they are lots easier than loose rounds, or a drop pouch.
I still have a couple drop pouches laying around, from younger days.
Take care.

No luck with them here, either. At least the pair I bought were cheap at the time I got them. Losing them (a toss into the range trash barrel) wasn't traumatic.
