Mauser Bolt Stuck

My friend stripped, cleaned and reassembled the bolt of his M-48. He put the bolt back in the action. It is in the fired position and will not open. The bolt will only rotate about 15 degrees. Any solutions to this problem from you fine people?
Thanks,
Geordie

I would take it to some one more familer with mausers but my guse is he put something in the wrong way. If it wont open when cocked I would discharge it and try and open it then.

Just to cover all the bases if the safety is turned all the way to the right the bolt wont open.

I put the decocked bolt in the rifle, and using a rubber wedge I recock it. Easier if you don't own a vice.

FWIW the little groove on the passenger side of a K98 cocking piece is to hang a cartridge rim in to cock the bolt.

I know pretty much everything there is about nearly rverything, all except whats wrong with your Mauser.Just drug out my Polish '98 and spent a half hor trying to replicate your situation.

Sure wish I had my hands on it, this going to bother me .............
