I tend to like to resist the common path, so my first .22RFs were Remingtons. I still have a 572 SpeedMaster (Pump) as my only manual .22RF, and it is a decent rifle. Then I moved on to Marlins. I still have a 922M and a M7000. The 7000 is a great shooter and I greatly enjoy shooting it.
At some point, my desire for a suppressor led me to 10/22s due to the ease of barrel swaps and the large number of barrels that were threaded. Now I have 3 of them and the wife has her own. While only two have Ruger receivers and bolts, the ease of maintenance, reconfigurability and options makes them a more preferred platform for most of my .22 work. I have them set up for different purposes, some of which the M7000 could never be better.
Now, accuracy out at 100 yards, the M7000 has an edge there, especially based on cost. Are 795s better or worse than 10/22s? Nope, just different. Depending on the use/purpose, one might be easier or cheaper to set up than the other.
