Picked up this 336W this afternoon in a trade. Serial#98011665. Anyone know when this was made. It has the JM on the bbl and doesn't have REP stamped on it. Thanks in advance.

Subtract the 1st 2 digits of the SN from 100 to get the year of manufacture. 100-98= 02, or 2002 as the date it was made.

Well I went to the range at lunch. Gun was shooting low and left with 150 and 170gr. bullets. After moving it up and right, it now shoots center X at 25yds. Need to get out to the 50 & 100yd ranges and see how well it shoots the same loads there. Was shooting the Green/Yellow box stuff from Wally World. I'm hoping this will be a MOD (minute of deer) gun for some fall hunting. See the big grin on my face.:D

I wouldn't change the elevation until I got to at least 50 yards, 100 would be better. A little low at 25 would probably be about right at 100. Even though Most shots might be at 50 or less I still want to see what they are doing at longer ranges.
