Hello out there, anyone reloading lead bullets for this gun? I have Lee reloading die set, the expander die does not flare out the case enough. Saving lead. Any solutions???

You could use a 38/357 flaring die. The plug has a generous taper that would easily expand the case. The only question would be fit in the seating die.

Manual says: "...turning inward increases the flare."
You don't want a larger flare anyway. Just enough to sit the bullet into and have it stay put.

From recall, the bullets are maybe .363.9mm is .355/356.

My guess? Someone picking and packing the order at Lee built your die set with the wrong expander button.
Measure it,or see if it has any letter or number code on it.Call Lee.

I'm thinking they will take care of you.

Lee 3 die set 9x18 makarov flaring die

After mucking around with lee's flaring die, i have found a way to achieve a proper bell flare so i can load lead bullets without shaving. I remove the upper rubber o-ring and filed down some of the top of the die, which now has allowed the floating flaring head to seat further into the case giving it a nice bell flare and now the bullets can enter into the case easily. The crimping die re-sizes the case......and no lead shaving:)
