Magazines

I am sure there have to be some magazines dedicated to hand guns or guns in general.

Is there magazines that anyone would recommend. As you know I am new so I would like to learn what I can. Thanks for any input. Much appreciated,

In this order for me: Gun Tests, Gun World, Shotgun News, American Handgunner. I cannot take much more of Guns & Ammo: all glitzy-slanted material to sell, baby, sell!!!!
Their TV program is one big joke!

American Handgunner and Combat Handguns, both of these present outstanding articles in every issue. American Handgunner is published every other month (6 times a year) and Combat Handguns is a monthly publication. I read every issue of both magazines cover to cover.

I like COMBAT HANDGUNS, It concentrates on the important things.

If you are looking for large amounts of information, Small Arms Review is great. It's not as slick as some of the other gunrags but it's dense with all sorts of nifty firearms know-how.

They sell it at Barnes & Noble.

American Handgunner & Combat Handgun are the best IMHO.
My .02cents & some think it worth about half that.

If you have determined specific interest areas within all firearms that you want to read about, there may be websites or magazines that are more for coverage of that area, besides most mags that you see on newstands most of the time. Alot of the newstands mags might have good handgun articles one month, then alot of shotgun articles the next for hunting birds. They have to cover all the bases in some mags. Others cover one area more so. Give us an idea of your interests.

I think "American Handgunner" is way above the rest. I read "Combat Handguns", but find their gun tests to vary wildly in quality. One tester last year, for example, only had a few dozen cartridges on hand, so he based his conclusions on a few minutes' shooting. Others are more detailed and thoughtful.

My Vote Goes To....

S.W.A.T. is, in my opinion, one of the best. It has some great articles. The pics are good, the stories informative. There are others but they have already been mentioned. Gun Porn Rules!!! I even read the words!!!
