M84 Scope for 1903 Rifle - Question re Rings

Does anyone know what type of rings to use for attaching a M84 scope to a Springfield M1903?

I've seen the Redfield Junior base and 7/8" semi split rings, but I'm not sure if these will work with the M84 scope.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't get the answer here, try The CSP forums at Jouster.com or the forums at gunandknife.com. What's an M84 scope?

Regards.

You want the OTHER rings for the 1903A4

Uncle Sam issued two-piece 7/8" rings for the Redfield JR base and M84 scope. Your assumption is correct, the split top rings don't work on the M84. They had to go that route, because the scope could not be disassembled to slide through the rings for mounting. The two-piece rings are very similar to current Leupold and Redfield two-piece rings, but also command quite a price due to their rarity. These are markedly different than the one-piece split top rings issued for the 3/4" Weaver 330/M73B1 and one-piece split top rings issued for the 7/8" Lyman Alaskan/M81/m82 scopes.

Here's what the 1903A4 looks like with the one-piece split top rings, using a 7/8" Lyman scope:
