M1 Carbine + Ultimak + Extended AR scope mount (Reversed)

The mount in the link below reversed ( so it is over the receiver ) on an Ultimak rail with a Millet 1-4DMS .

Other than not to your taste is there any reason it wouldn't work?

I know I could use a scout or pistol scope on the Ultimak rail but I don't like the limited feild of view. I do like the DMS type scopes ( had one in the same mount on a S&W MP15T).

I dont see why it wouldnt work. Its doing the same thing, either way.

When you say limited FOV, I'm assuming your meaning through the scope, right? The Scout set ups give you a much better all around field of view, the scope is just the aiming focus point. Over all, the Scout is the more versatile and usable set up, especially for something as handy as a M1 Carbine. I think moving the scope back will limit you.

Personally, I'd put an Aimpoint on that puppy. But thats me.
