m-44 opinions?

A local dealer has a m44 stainless with a 4 in barrel. he asking $297 for it. It looks like it hasnt been shot much (little top strap cutting). I currently own a redhawk 44 mag and was wondering how the taurus compares in accuracy and durability compared to the redhawk? It would mostly be used as a woods carry gun with lots of range work ( I handload)

M44

Bigboredave,

I've had a 3" version of this revolver for the past three months and I love it. The price of under $300 sounds good, if the gun is in decent shape.

The fixed sights on mine were a little difficult getting used to, but, now that I've practiced with the gun, I can hit the steel bowling pins and balls at 25 yds. quite well.

I carry mine as a woods gun and it's unbeatable for that purpose. As a handloader, I also have a very accurate and mild range load that I can shoot all day long.

I'd say "go for it." You'll love it.
