Lubricating the barrel

Yes. Especially in an auto pistol with a slide.

Anywhere you see rub marks needs lube. The only exception is the breechface.

Okay, I was thinking of using Break-Free CLP to lubricate the outside barrel, knowing that's it's OK I'll go ahead with it.

Can you also use CLP on the breech face to clean to residue off?

If CLP is your choice, you can use it to clean pretty much your entire weapon. Put it on your toothbrush while scrubbing, que-tips while getting in the nooks, etc....then wipe clen, and a light coat of clean oil after.

Hi 1in thechamber,

I like to clean my firearms with Ed's Red, then apply a light amount of Militec-1 to all the wear surfaces, including the barrel of my autos. It's my opinion that I et far fewer malfunctions than some other shooters.

Be Well,

Does anyone have any tips for cleaning the breech face? I just coat a Q-Tip with a little CLP (rubbing it against a cardboard to wipe away excess oil) and rub away the black residue, then wipe again with a gun cleaning patch to remove any oil or residue that was left.
