lr308 project: ran into a grey area...handguards

ok, I have a CMMG MK3 LR308 (dpms lr308 pattern), uses same parts as most ar15s in the lower(trigger group, buffer tube, stock, ect)

ive currently got a aero precision forged upper receiver

and I was looking at Midwest industries keymod handguards as I've used them on multiple ar's and liked the simplicity and ease of install

my problem now is ive now run into a forked road were im unsure of which path to take.

there are two variations of the keymod rail and im unsure of which will fit my rifle

so im unsure which will fit my rifle type

type 1 or type 2

You need the type1 handguard. The g2 is a whole new design. You will also need the higher .210 rail.
