LR-308 - mount/rings/BUIS question.

Hello all,

I recently purchased a DPMS LR-308 SASS. I will be equipping it with a Nightforce NXS 2.5-10 x 32 Compact. I would like to mount it without using a quick disconnect and still be able to use the BUIS as well. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I have been looking at Leapers see-thru riser mounts for the heck of it. BUT! They only give about 1.02” of height…most BUS I am looking at are at least 1.5” in height.

I don't really want to use a quick disconnect mount, but I would like the option of using the BUS without having to mess with up the true zero.

offset mount

You could mount the irons on an offset mount. You'd have to tilt the rifle to use them, but I think see-through mounts will be a poor compromise.

Look at the laruetactical.com LT-158 mount. Its what I use.

Yankeehillmachine.com QDS flip-up rear sight has the lowest folded height at 0.435" followed by Midwestindustriesinc.com SPLP at 0.4375". Either should fit below the objective bell of the Nightforce.

Yes actually, and for a whole 5 minutes or so at that. :D

I ended up going with the LaRue Tactical SPR / M4 Scope Mount QD LT-104 with 30mm rings!
