Looking for a "midway" CC gun

That is, something that fits midway between my LCP and Glock 19 - for when I want more than the LCP, but don't want to lug around the Glock.

Definitely want 9mm, at the least. I wouldn't be trying to pocket carry it, but would like it thin enough for very comfortable IWB carry. I keep coming back to the LC9, but I want to see what other options are out there. I know Sig has a few that would fit the bill but I don't think I want to pay that much. Any other good options?

A Kahr P9 is probably a decent compromise between those two guns.

Walther PPS. I'm a bit biased since I own one, but it's really a solid gun that doesn't get enough love.

Kahr CM9 if you're OK with 2 fingers... Kahr CW9 for 3 fingers.

My CW9 has run 100% reliable since out-of-box and is suprisingly accurate and soft-shooting for its size... I much prefer 3-finger grip for 9mm.

Kahr CW9 or P9, M&P Shield, Walther PPS, Ruger LC9, and the new Bersa BP9 CC are all basically the same size/capacity.

CM9 is a bit smaller.

If you bought both the LCP and the Glock 19 and equally alternated carrying them, say LCP M-T-W-TH, and Glock F-Sat-Sunday into early Monday morning, cut-off time say 0800hrs, then you could have the two you already like, plus you can use the same 9 mil ammuntion for each.

I'd say sig 224, and second the walther pps.

With the 224 youre really mixing manual of arms. I would think if you got the PPS it would replace the LCP entirely.

Ruger LC9 maybe? The 224 is my style but a LC9 or PPS would fit what youre comfortable with.

The CZ Compact is about the same size as the G19. I have a PCR, and carry it, but it is not the size the OP wants. I am considering a Sig P938, Walther PPS and S&W Shield 9MM for this role. I am leaning towards the P938 because of the trigger, plus it is a little smaller.

I carry a LC9 IWB, and my LCP in my back pocket.Works for me.

Walther PPS, Ruger SR9, S&W Shield and the Springfield Xdc. All are good choices although I'm biased towards the Walther PPS.

There's about a million guns that fit inbetween those two, that is sort of the sweet spot for CCW. You seem like a prime candidate for a Glock 26. Presuming you like the Glock 19, the 26 is smaller.

I was looking for something for a very similar gap. I ended up purchasing a Walther PPS and love it. I looked that the LC9, PM9/CM9 as well as others. I went into the LGS planning on getting the CM9, but really liked the PPS more. Nothing wrong with the others, I just like the PPS better overall.

If your fine with the LCP then you'll probably really like the CM9/PM9.
The LC9 is noticably bigger than the CM9/PM9.

If you like the Glock trigger instead, you should look at the Walther PPS.
Its also a little bigger than the Kahr's.

I've had an LCP, G19 and G26. I used all of them, but kept looking for something better.

I eventually settled on the Keltec PF-9 the lightest and thinnest 9mm on the market. The fact that the mfg made a small belt clip specifically for it was a real plus because it removes the bulk and cost of a holster.

I've had it now for a couple of years and I carry it anytime I get out of my pajamas. Highly recommended.

There is a whole bunch of folks who think that carrying any pistol with the trigger exposed is a real bad idea.

Besides anyone that has ever shot a PF-9 will tell you that the probability of accidental discharge are nil. It's a double action with the longest trigger pull that I know of. You pull and pull and pull and pull and then pull some more and just when you think the darn thing will never go off, then it finally does. After a couple hundred rounds I developed a feel for it.

Thats not the point - the point is your tossing out lousy carry habits and recommendations to those who may not know better.
It doesnt matter how nasty the trigger is, its still exposed.

I took issue with it because those types of clips can be put on several other pistols with much softer triggers... its just a bad idea all around.

the pps is a fantastic gun. feels and shoots much bigger than the dimensions would suggest. conceals like a dream.

the kahr line is nice too, but for the tiny price difference, why not go with the best?

Carry as you see fit, but this is an ironic way to state how safe it is. Isn't that how most negligent discharges happen? "I didn't think it would go off...then it did!"

@the OP, you should get the Kahr then report back, I've been looking at those to fill a similar size role.
