I'm loading brass 16 ga, because the ejection port on my Model 12 is cut for paper shells and the plastic shells stick coming out.

I bought brass from several different runs of the MagTech hulls. One box is Berdan primed, one box (Crown) is 209 primed and 4 boxes are large pistol primed. I recommend the 209 primed if you can get them, although the large pistol primers work quite well.

I am using the Lee Load All as a base tool. The deprimer will not do the pistol primers, but that is not a problem that can't be fixed with a nail worked to the proper dimensions. :) The primer station is a bit of a problem with pistol primers, as the head and hole are cut to 209 primer size. I just cut a new primer station out of aluminum and can send you a drawing, if you'd like.

The brass shells won't feed through an action well unless they are rolled at the mouth. The Crown shells come rolled, the MagTech are straight mouthed. HammerDouble has tooling to take care of this.

Contact Roger Alexander and you will get more help than you can imagine.

They also have the proper sized wads and cards for this operation. Brass shells take a larger wad and card than to paper or plastic.

Loading recipes are not different from paper or plastic. Watch your shells carefully if you are using blackpowder, as they will corrode quickly.

Note that Cowboy Brass and some others are selling off old production of MagTech with the Berdan primer pockets. All new MagTech hulls are large pistol pockets.

Have fun and keep us posted. :D

so You Can Roll Crimp Them Instead Of Gluing The Shot Card On The End ?
NO,no,no,no

The crimp on the end is just a VERY slight roll to take the "sharpness" out of the end of the shell. This allows them to feed better in a magazine fed gun. It is unnecessary for breech fed guns, although it does make them a tad "prettier." :D

I'll send the drawing. Connection is acting up, I'll try again tomorrow during break.
