Loading 45 LC in 444 brass

Because of the long chamber in my 45/410 single shot pistol, accuracy is very poor with regulat 45 colt loads. I have read about using 444 marlin cases to load brass 410 loads and was wondering about using them to load 45 lc, thinking that would start the bullet a lot closer to the rifling.
Since the case capacity is a lot more than the 45lc case how much more powder should I try to achive a near factory 45 lc load?

I don't think it can be done. The .444 marlin cases are designed for .430 diameter bullets and .45 Colt are .452. I don't think you can expand the case enough to get around the bullet and even if you did it would not chamber or fire properly.

Take a chamber cast, measure it. Compare it to 444 brass. That is the only way you will ever know without trying to load something that may or may not work.

Not sure how well it would work...

But you can get brass .410 shells.

I have a Contender with a .45colt/.410 barrel, and eventually got just a .45 Colt barrel, reserving the combo barrel for the .410 only.
