I was able to order a police buy back S&W 64.

When I went to pick up the gun the block where the pawn shop sits was blocked off. There were at least a half dozen cop cars and an aid truck lights flashing with lots of guns drawn.

My first thought was "darn the pawn shops been robbed and I can't get my gun today". But on a closer look I saw light reflectors and and the cops seemed to be aiming their weapons at a group of guys and a camera.

A nice young lady told me to shush and then ,as soon as someone yelled cut, let me go around the action and into the shop.

So anyway here's my Model 64-5 BHT68xx

Sorry the attachment is a bit too big to show up on screen.
Handle has lot of wear and the guns got lots of scratches, but the bore is bright and it lock up real good. Now to find some ammo.

Not bad. I wish my agency had allowed us to purchase our duty weapons when we switched to Berettas. Several of us would have bought them. I certainly would have bought mine.

By the way beautiful specimen buzz. I had a 65-3 4" a number of years ago and traded it off and have regretted it ever since. Found a 65-4 at the gun shop about a month and a half ago and couldn't get it out of my mind so about a week ago it was still there which was a sign that it was meant to be. So all is right in the world now! I've always adored those models for some reason. Good reason though. :D

Looks like I have to widen my search for ammo.

I don't mind the scratches that much. I will get some polish and hit it a few times, but I care more about utility than looks.
Eventually I'm going to swap out the grips for Pachmyrs or Hogues.

I'll give a range report asap. Bet I could write it now though.
The gun balances well and though the grip feels a little slim I can't complain about fit too much.
The trigger is smooth and breaks clean in both double and single action.

So all I need now is to show you the targets.
