After using a friend's Beretta 70s, I made a decision to buy a 70 series 22lr pistol if I ever found one. I got one today at a gun show. I think I paid about $20 too much for it, but this is the first one I have seen in the last two years. Can't wait to take it out to the range and try it out.
What strikes me as strange is that the seller hadn't made any attempt at cleaning the gun. It was pretty dirty--the barrel is currently soaking overnight in a batch of Ed's Red. I have seen this before at gun shows, people selling guns that are beaters without even cleaning them up. I wouldn't let my guns get that dirty, period, let alone if I were trying to sell them.
