Kimber Stainless II

I'm thinking about buying my first 1911. I was wanting to buy the Springfield G.I. or Mil-Spec then I seen the Kimber. So I think I might go back and buy the Kimber but, I wanted to know a little more bout it before I pay $750 - $800 for it. So is it a good gun for the money or is there something better for the same price out there.

Eric: the G.I. and Mil Spec are great, very well priced options. While I like Kimber (only a few in that price range), if you are gonna pay the additional freight, you should look at other 1911s around that price. Anyhow, don't be in a hurry. It's fun to shop for 1911s!

I have one. It's my first 1911 and I love it. I shopped around some, but this one was the one that kept calling to me. So far my experience at both the range and carrying it have been great.
