just started fire forming

I've always full length resized untill now. I just bought neck sizer dies for my two bolt actions. My question is, after I've fire formed my cases do I need to push the shoulder back occasionally or will my chamber keep the head space correct automatically? I'm shooting a 30-06 Sprng and a .338 RUM, Thanks.

For most of my loads the brass splits or the primer pockets feel too loose before I need to bump the shoulder. I would suspect you would feel hard bolt closing when you need to use the full length die but I bet you get 5-10 reloads before bumping. Naturally there will be tons of variables in how each rifle behaves.

Yes, one pass through the full length die, then check your OAL, and things are back to standard size.
