Just shot first squirrel with my Taurus Tracker .17 HMR

Instantly hooked on using this revolver to shoot squirrels with. Shot was about 25 yards, squirrel didn't move an inch. I initially grabbed my Marlin .17 HMR bolt action but decided it was so close that it was a good opportunity to try to shoot a squirrel with my Taurus. It left a much smaller exit wound than the rifle usually does.

I have an urge to wander through the woods and shoot some more of them.

I might try to take a rabbit with it if I catch one in the garden.

good fun I bet. I love fried squirrel too.

I have the BFF3 for my MK 22/45 pistol and it seems a challenge for a steady shot at anything past 15 yards. Most of my shooting with the reddot is done within 10 yards.

Were you in a rested position?

The barrel was rested and the dot was pretty steady when I shot.

I need to shoot it more from without a rest or shooting stick. I know what you mean about the dot being shakey at more distance, but I know that its more of my shakiness that is making it happen. I need to practice with it more, its definitely a lot more accurate than I can demonstrate with it without a rest. I need to shoot at something other than paper targets with it, water filled cans and such. I need to figure out how far off i can hit a squirrel sized object, like water filled cans. Probably more of that after deer season.

Let me fix that for you...

"I have an urge to wander through the woods and shoot some more of them."

"...shoot at..." sounds too haphazard and irresponsible. ;)
