Just ordered my first revolver Ruger SS in .22 with 9.5"

Well, I have been wanting to get into .22 silhoette and I have been looking for a new and fun plinker gun.

Also - I might want to do some varmint hunting if I can get hooked up...

Anyone have one of these long Rugers? The Gun Room in Elk Grove CA solt it to me for $310 ($369 retail) and the 10 day period will start next week...

Anyone out there have experience with this long barreled gun?

And what about the WMR cylinder? I find it intrieging but I am not sure if it is allowed in .22 IHMSA or what...

It just seemed like a fun looking gun so I pulled the trigger ;)

Whoa.

We know that CCI MaxiMag +Vs in .22Mag pull 1,200fps from a 2" barrel and 1,400 from a 4". Soooo....wow, you're gonna be up past 1,600fps somewheres. Maybe 1,800.

Those would really hurt :D. Seriously, you're knocking on .38Spl effectiveness I'll bet :).

If you get tired of target shooting, you've still got a damned fine low-recoil home defense gun :D.

Yeah - my wife is pro-gun in principle but does not care for my Colt .45 or BHP - but I showed her the pic of the Ruger long barrel and her eyes lit up - "its like a cowboy gun!"

Can't wait until Thursday 9/13 (for your update!)

I'm curious: why doesn't the 10-day waiting period start as soon as you hand over the money?
