Just a hammer...

I have a Model 60 Smith which I carried as backup for years. In doing so, I cut the hammer off and did a great trigger job but now want a hammer. Called S&W first, they sent one, the wrong one and I was told by them "that is all there is" so I am still looking. Does anyone know the best place to buy a standard Model 60 hammer?

You need to buy a hammer for the correct envineering change. That GENERALLY reduces the amount of fitting that needs to be done, but it can be tough to determine.

Look over here in the classifieds...

I got a couple of complete hammer assemblies for my 15 and 64 for $25.00. Just have to be patient and look around.

If you talked with S&W they asked you what engineering number (often called a "dash number") you had. The dash number (60-2, 60-3,..., 60-10, whatever) will get you the correct hammer. It could be that you have a "no dash" as well.
