Jungle Carbine trickery?

Seen a jungle carbine at the gun show, I don't frequent gun shows very often. never seen a jungle carbine in real life.

Any way, the magazine was not period, could live with that. The forearm was apparently whittled on and the flash hider looked odd but I've never seen one so I have no frame of reference. The bluing was new but the receiver was really dusty like the guy has had it on his racks for a long time.

So, to the Enfield gurus, what tips or things to look for to avoid getting a fake Jungle carbine?

I have a no4 and generally like Enfields. If I found a good jungle carbine I might pick it up.

Yes great info.

Most of the pics shown show a flash hider that looks like distinct part from the barrel.

The one in question the barrel, sight, and flash hider were all one piece of metal. It definitely had a cut down fore end. I wish I had taken down serial nos, but the flash hider made me put it back in the rack.
