J-frame grips

Some of the other threads in this forum reminded me of something I've been searching for. Does anyone know
of a source for the skinny minimal wooden grips for
a round butt S&W 640? These seem to be unusually hard
to find. Even CDNN, which has a plethora of J-frame grips,
doesn't carry these. Thanks.

Ahrend's makes good grips of this type. "Boot-grip" type contours, incredibly thin and tapering towards the bottom.

I used to find them at gunshows. Havn't looked recently, but they are probably still available since lots of people upgrade to those fancy newfangled rubber grips and boot grips.

commygun, call S&W, they still sell the original walnut service grips. I just ordered a set for my M37 and am real happy with them. I much prefer original factory wood grips to anything else, especially rubber.

The last few sets of Eagle grips I purchased needed extensive fitting. Most of them are do-it-yourself projects. The only set of eagle grips I have ever bought that really fit out of the box was a set of stag grips for a Blackhawk. I love the quality of their materials but they just don't seem to fit all that well.
