So far, my favorite IWB holster is the Milt Sparks Versa Max 2. I can effectively conceal a 5" 1911 in comfort for extended periods. I have several of them for various firearms. However, I would like to see what else is on the market.
I'm looking for a holster for a S&W Model 64 with 2" barrel (.38 Special K-frame). It's currently sporting Pachmayr Compac Professional grips.
The key points for me as far as comfort are holsters that have off-set belt loops (loops are not over the firearm/cylinder), AND the front loop is on a tab of sorts, so that the gun can carry comfortably at 3:00 or slightly in front of strong-side hip with barrel pointing outside the right leg (I'm right-handed.).
I prefer leather, but would be open to other materials.
Here are some examples of what I mean:
The Sparks Versa Max 2 *DOES* have a tabbed front loop:
The Sparks Watch Six and Tucker Texas Heritage do *NOT* have tabbed front loops:
One holster that looks promising (Anybody here have any experience?) is the AKJ Concealco IWB:
Thanks for your help!
