Is there any use for the half and third moon clips?

Is it any easier to get shells into and out of the one-half and one-third moon clips compared to a full moon clip? Would there be any useful purpose to either in comparison to the full moon clip?

They are FAR easier to carry than a full-moon clip.

They tend to be easier to load/unload. (Note: an extra 1911 barrel is a handy tool when loading and unloading full moon clips.)

Somebody mentioned the idea of doing a tactical reload. i.e. reloading 2-3 rounds after an exchange; where, as with the full moon clips, you have to toss your remaining rounds to go to the next full clip. HTH
