I was looking at one of these in 243... they came with the Savage American classic checkered wood stock with ebony nose, and centerfeed clip. They seem to be out of production.(?) Were these a limited run or just discontinued? Distributor exclusive? When did they stop this model?

Info on Savage 14 Classic stainless?

Never seen or heard of one, but I don't follow Savage as closely as other brands. 14/114 are the numbers for the blued walnut stocked versions, 16/116 for stainless. Any chance someone swapped some stocks around? If not calling it a model 14 doesn't fit their numbering system.

A local chain store in my area had a few. Priced onsale for like 575 or something like that. What a deal, should have picked one up when i had the chance. These were chambered in 270 win. So that would have been the 114.

They discontinued them about a year ago or so. Shame it's one of the best looking guns savage ever put together.

I've never seen a 14 in stainless either. I follow savage rifles pretty closely but I have seen some models that I didn't know existed.

It was a 14 American classic stainless. They didn't offer it very long.
