info on Remington mld. 17

A friend of mine recently asked me if I could get some (any) information on an old shotgun that has been past down through his family for generations,I first thought of yall, so here goes. Remington model 17 20 gauge pump
says "Brownings patent June15 1915."
#'s 61705.
Any and all information yall good folks might have will much appreciated.

All I can see is that it was a bottom ejection model that was discontinued in 1933. There were a little less than 50k made and a perfect one is worth about $400 (less for plain barrel, more for ribbed). Some were made to higher "grade" levels. The above price is for a plane-jane "A" grade. They went up to an "F".

Apparently, the Ithaca model 37 is an adaptation of this firearm, originally designed by John Browning.

The model 17 is a hamerless, takedown 5 shot 20ga only. Barrels plain 26" to 32", choked full, modified, or cylinder. About 53/4lb Plain pistol grip stock, grooved slide handle. Made from 1921-1933
The present Ithaca Model 37 is an adaptation oftheis Browning design.
