In a lull ???

Ever get in one of those moods where ya just don`t wanna cast anything ???

I`m low on (6 lbs.) 358429s & can`t even bring myself to look at the furnaces let alone plug 1 of em in :(

I even have a couple of nused moulds to try out !!

Even contemplated bout selling some stuff , even got brass prepped & setting on go :eek:

What can I do to motivate myself ????:cool:

Nope, quite the opposite lately. Have so many interesting projects that I was almost glad to cut short a hunting trip to work on them. :eek: I guess a new rifle or pistol or boolit mould might perk things up a bit.
But yes, by all means, shoot! That's always good for a few ideas and it helps empty out the boolit buckets.

Yup, I have a couple hundred primed 9mm cases ready for boolits but I just can't get the motivation for a pot warmup. Maybe it's because our range has been flooded out five months of the year so far.

It's natural and normal to be in a lull this time of year. It's winter and I'm hunting. All my ammo for the season is loaded and I'm doing a lot more walking and sitting and waiting than I am casting or reloading. It's all part and parcel of the season. Sometime early next year, probably in February, I'll clean out my hunting bag; empty all the detritus from it and start looking at my stocks. I'll take the hunting ammo to the range and burn it, simply for trigger time. Then I'll start looking at the casting pots and drag out the brass tumbler.

I've also got a new mold I haven't used yet, and I'm thinking about putting a scout scope on a Win 94, taking a rifle off layaway and buying components. There's a season for all that, but right now the casting bench is in a lull.

Have one more hunting trip, looks like I'll have CB loads for at least one rifle. After that it'll be my year-end assessment which includes casting and loading project planning. Getting bids on a shop building so mebbe pretty soon I'll have a comfy casting shack. ;)

Does comfy include a 5ton A/C unit & a built in rain system ???:D

I`ve been lookin at the 10X15 "haul" in buildings myself , with some creature comforts added.

Much bigger & I`ll have a car inside workin on it :eek:

Probably a swamp cooler and ridge vents for summertime and a radiant heater for the winter casting sessions. It'll be big enough for a couple of lawn tractors and a car, most likely a lift as well. Lawn tractors and high-mileage beaters frequently need a bit of light maintenance.
I've considered a big shipping container but decided against it. Rented one before I had my shed built, it was an oven in summertime. I have a 12X16 storage shed but it's full of tools, no room for a casting area.
Getting bids on a metal building with a concrete floor, overhead door and covered drive. We'll see how it fits in my budget, may just build a loafing shed onto the back of my existing shed. ;)
