IL - ISRA Garand Raffle

If you hadn't heard, the Illinois State Rifle Association is having a fundraising raffle for an M1 Garand from Springfield Armory. With the introduction of HB 2414, they are going to have an uphill battle this year protecting their rights, and will need all the resources they can get.

Is the M1 banned under the new legislation?

While not explicetly banning Garands it is pretty broad in it's definition of "assualt weapons"

(B) a semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to
5 accept a detachable magazine and has any of the
6 following:
7 (i) a folding or telescoping stock;
8 (ii) a pistol grip that protrudes
9 conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon;
10 (iii) a bayonet mount;
11 (iv) a flash suppressor or barrel having a
12 threaded muzzle; or
13 (v) a grenade launcher;

No detachable mag, though (or is it )

M1 Garand doesn't feature a detachable magazine. You load it via clips into the fixed mag well.
