22 : Ruger Target Competition Mark II (again)

380: Sig Sauer P238 (again) or a Walther PPK

9 mm: Glock 19 MOS with RMR (again). Why? Because I can shoot it with either hand out to 50 yards.

40: Glock 35 (I have the 23)

45: FN FNX (I have the FNP and a few 1911s).

Revolver, 357: S&W Performance Center 8 shot 5" (again)

Revolver 44 Magnum: S&W Performance Center 629 Hunter 7.5" (again)

Revolver 460: 460 XVR 8 5/8" (again)

Revolver, 500: S&W 500 6.5" (again). I prefer the shorter barrel for more control.

6-7" barrels are easiest to hold and still give respectable velocity.

I really wouldn't change what I've acquired.

I have had HKs, Berettas, Sig Sauer, in addition to what I've listed. Never had a Canik but it's alluring. Never had a CZ but nothing wrong with them. I have had Colt Pythons but I prefer my S&W so I gifted one and sold two others.

.22, .380, 9mm, .40, 45, and one revolver...
With no emphasis on SD, HD, CC, hunting, competition, etc.

.22 -- Browning Buckmark or Ruger Mk I.

.380 -- I wouldn't buy a .380. There isn't much point with today's compact 9mms (small size and lower recoil being the point of a .380; but negated in many of today's pistols).

9mm -- Browning Hi-Power.

.40 S&W -- Nope. Not much point with a 9mm on hand.

.45 Auto -- I'd build a 1911.

One revolver to rule them all?... S&W M29 in .44 Mag. ...Not because of Dirty Harry, nor because it is the pinnacle of revolver development (it isn't); but because it would provide the most utility for me.

What do you mean starting over?
All my hand guns are 22lr or 9mm and that is by design.
At some point I'll finally pick up a 1911 though.
The fewer calibers I have to stock the better and I personally think 9mm is the best pistol caliber (pound for pound).. it's a very well rounded caliber and it's NATO.
Assuming we're not talking about wilderness protection, Which even then I would not be completely uncomfortable with.

22lr high standard sentinel (22lr revolver, bam! 2 birds with one stone)
380, no need.. well.. if I had to fill the slot a kel-tec pf9
9mm, Taurus 92
.40, no need, not a fan of .40, but if I had to fill the slot then a Beretta Cougar 8357 (.357sig) hey 357 sig is a 40 necked down to 9mm so :p
45acp, 1911.. probably a Taurus or Ruger.

Everything got burnt up in a fire. Insurance covers replacement, so you get a do-over.

.22, Ruger Mark whatever is current, target version.

.380, if I'm going to use it for carry, LCP custom, for the better sights. Not the LCPII. If not for carry, Beretta 85, or CZ83, or something with some historic significance.

9mm, XDS or Glock 26. This and/or the snubby will be the main carry gun(s).

.40, XD subcompact (still). Carry alternative.

.45, pick some decent 1911, tweak as desired. They're just a hoot to shoot. Can be carried in a pinch.

I'd probably have more than "a revolver", but if only one, S&W Performance Center Pro 640. A bit more of a gun than my current 642.

If I'm spending my own money:

.22 - Tactical Solutions Slide Conversion on Dan Wesson Silverback
.380 - buying low, selling instantly
9mm - Dan Wesson Silverback
.40 - I'm gonna fire it from a Dan Wesson Silverback 10mm
.45 - Dan Wesson Silverback
Rev - Chiappa Rhino

Yes, that is 3 Silverbacks (9, 10 and 45), 1 slide conversion, and one fugly and interesting revolver.

If you are sponsoring me its the same but daddy needs a Guncrafter, an Ed Brown, and we're gonna need to select a full custom to round out the 1911 Trio. The revolver is going to be a Colt this time.
