I have a S&W model 651 in caliber 22 magnum Ser# BRU 35xx. I have decided to sell this particular revolver in order to finance another "must have". This revolver is a 2" RB, honest 95% condition. Box & papers. All of my books list this gun as either a 3" or a 4" barrel. I have been told that this is a " Lew Horton " gun although I can not find any documentation to that effect. Would this revolver have any more value than a standard 4" 651 ???. littleperk.

Only my own experience and only in this area, but I found out the 2" barrel was hard to sell and worth less than the 4". The 2" was made up as a "sort of" defense gun, but most people prefer .38 or .357 for defense, and a longer barrel for a trail gun, so the 2" was a bit of a solution seeking a problem.

But that was 10-12 years ago, and collector interest might give a different answer today, when there is more interest in the older S&W's.
