I need to get a new .54cal

I need to find a rifle for my soon to be 10yr old son to hunt with. Where would be the best place to look?

I have a .54cal trade rifle and I have kinda always wanted a plains rifle, so I am thinking about buying me a new rifle and then just cutting the stock down on my trade rifle for him. But I am not sure what I want to do as far as that goes.

re stock it . at his age he will out grow a cut down stock in a few years pretty easy
