I guess I am bored

It has been raining for the last three days straight and doesn't show any signs of letting up.

I wanted to do something with my shooting irons but I am too lazy to get started on the refinishing of the Geroco Texas Scout or cutting down the trapdoor barrel.

So I made a coupla cleaning jags. One which works good for .44, .45, and .45-70 and the other for .36, .38, .357. I also made an adaptor for the cleaning outfit I use. Problem is, the outfit is the one from the Belgian Infantry. I love this cleaning kit but the threads are metric.

Good many of my tips brushes and such are US sizes. So the adaptor is intended to permit the use of the US tips on the Belgian cleaning rod.

What a completely useless post. I guess I am bored.

Sorry guys.

I'm sure yours are much fancier than mine but mine do work. Just get a piece of dowel that's just under bore size, chuck it up in a drill and use a file to cut rings in it. Add a knob and voila you have a cleaning jag.

Top and middle are short starters. The long starter is for tight patched balls for my Hawken. The short one wont push the ball far enough down to use the ramrod.

What can be said Doc? Sounds like you need to get a hobby! :D

By the way Hawg . . . love the jags you made . . . Can't remember where I saw it but I saw something similar on an original rifle ramrod - a full stock.
