Hello to all.
Does anyone have any idea where I can purchase either a new or used (in operable condition) flintlock shotgun (fowler)? It will never be used to throw shot, but must be able to discharge a squib load of black powder. It is to be used as an educational tool for an ongoing Revolutionary War presentation, held at a Revolutionary War fort in NY State. Must be a single barrel, and look like an 18th century gun. We are all costumed, and it should appear to be period appropriate.
Everything I have been able to locate, are in the $800 - $1000 range. As I am volunteering my time, and must absorb all expenses, I need something much less expensive.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

The guys there generally post things for sale. I bought a double-barrel Pedersoli .58 off one shooter at the latter.

A lot of "fowlers " were half stock, Dixie gun works has several flinters with half stocks for $300-450, removing the front and rear sights and installing a bead front would make it appear to be a fowler.
