HS HD Military

According to the Blue Book - I don't have the dedicated High Standard reference book - the government bought 44,000 High Standards, model designation USA-HD as training pistols from 1943-1946. The illustrated gun is in the serial number range in BB.

The auction tag is not correct. The government purchased pistols, which the illustrated gun appears to be, were known as the USA-HD. The HD Military was the commercial sales version with adjustable rear sight and no US Property mark.

That's what I was wondering Jim.
When I qualified for the post pistol team at Ft. Riley in 1973 we shot Dura-matics from what I can remember.
The Action is about 50 miles away. I just might have to go take a look.
